MEET SHAY
With over 20 years experience at the collegiate level (Head Coach Brigham Young University, Pepperdine University, Denver University, Utah State University, Salt Lake Community College). I count myself lucky to have coached with some of the best coaches in the country and at the highest levels. Including having Carl McGown (founder of Gold Medal Squared) and his son, Chris McGown as my volunteer assistants while I was head coach at BYU.
Like so many, I recognize that Carl had an enormous influence on my coaching systems and philosophies.
Carl is not the only one, my list of influential coaches and mentors is long. I am grateful for how each experience combined to teach me what I know.
I am excited to team up with Nabil Mardini to make this an event you can't afford to miss. A big thank you to Head Coach Travis Underwood at Legend High School for helping me bring the High Performance Coaching Academy to Colorado again. Nabil and I look forward to sharing all we can with coaches who are invested in the game and the athletes they serve.

MEET NABIL
Nabil Mardini was just named the Head Coach at Los Angeles Mission College in January and is a principal member of LAVA (Los Angeles Volleyball Academy). Nabil is one of the most decorated two-year college coaches in the country. As Head Coach of the Pierce Women’s Volleyball Program, Nabil saw his 2010, 2011, and 2012 squads win back-to-back-to-back CCCAA California State Championships, and his 2006, 2015, and 2016 squads finish State Runner Ups, with the added bonus of Nabil being named AVCA National Two-Year College Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2012. If you haven't seen him in action you must!
